This whole crisis scenerio has been dictated by local politics. How do we change that to save our properties???? In this economy how do we generate enough public concern to keep them AND fund SOHS???
That is Washington in the sotry---have worked many a day there...Mac was built in 1926 as a high school, but was soon outgrown and became the junior high when MSHS was built on Oakdale.
This group doesn't really have activities per se---but there are many locally written books about local history that you might enjoy reading. There are several small museums in the area---Talent, Gold Hill etc., besides SOHS facilities. vab
The county has long had our assets in their sights....I recall trustee meetings in the 80's when they were asking for use of historic funds to do repairs to the Courthouse.
