Are you going to major in photography? My daughter attends the San Francisco Academy of Art University online, and she's planning on moving down there in the Fall. She used my XTi, and just recently purchased her own XSi.

Chris...........which art school are you planning on attending? You do realize that a DSLR with lenses, even used is worth quite a bit of money........perhaps you might seek an individual willing to allow you to make payments.

Bird photography in Southern Oregon

Southern Oregon offers so many great opportunities for bird watching, and bird photography as well. One thing to always take into consideration; birds are wild, not pet shop birds. With that being said, you need to dress accordingly, and approach your subject accordingly.

I have recieved many e-mails from frustrated folks who just cannot seem to capture the moment, even with the right equipment. Patience is a huge virtue. Always remember, when attempting to pho

Thanks for the greeting, Matthew. Yes, I've been in the newspaper industry since 1956. Came to the MT in 1961. But retirement is nice!

Hi,
I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your photos and writing on roguecurrent.

Even though I'm not a member of the photographers group I read your advice on white balance. (Eventually I'm going to have some time to spend with my camera again.)

Your explanation totally helped me understand the counterintuitive color temperature scale I have been struggling with as my husband and I try to change over all our lightbulbs to the energy-saving fluorescents without making my eyes bleed from the pure ugliness some of those bulbs emit. And your piece about the Pilot Rock hike will help remind us all why this little planet is worth protecting.

Thanks again.
