So nobody here watched a Halloween horror movie last weekend, but I still believe that a group of self-proclaimed movie fans must get a little screen time on a weekend. Maybe it's in a theater; maybe it's a DVD; maybe it's streaming video on your laptop.
I just want to know what others are watching. I'll keep asking and eventually someone will respond. Who knows? An online conversation could actually break out.
I watched "Whatever Works," the Larry David-Woody Allen from this summer. It's old-school Allen that is funny and surprisingly sweet. I simply liked it, but if you want to make it a study of various styles of Jewish comedy through the decades, you can see it that way, too. (
New York Magazine did.)
