Rogue Current

I am concerned about the Ashland Daily Tidings two page story on prominent Ashland resident, Jamie Auchincloss. I think child pornography is horrific, but what the Ashland Daily Tidings is doing is pretty scary too. Is this legal? Can you try and convict someone in a local paper without even an arrest or indictment? What's going on here?

i wish we knew more. i can't imagine such a story is printed without reason. although it's impossible to imagine being Jamie Auchincloss. i hope there is resolutioni quickly with either an apology or an arrest.

If you read the search warrant returns and talk to two eye witnesses, there's not a lot left to question about his guilt or innocence. The big question is why police seem to have made this a low priority, when there's also testimony that he has been taking photographs of children in Ashland. It's been six months since they seized evidence that seems to be incontrovertible. It's understandable that his friends find this hard to believe, but interesting to note that we have not heard any protest from Mr. Auchincloss.
