Rogue Current

Mail Tribune Food Editor Sarah Lemon is looking for readers and writers to join her in THRIVE’s Eat Local Challenge, Sept. 11-20.

For the purist, all meals during the entire week must be grown, raised or produced within 200 miles. The idealist eats one meal per day made entirely from foods within the 200-mile radius. The optimist aims for two of the week’s meals to meet the mileage criteria.

Whatever your level of dietary participation, the blogging part is easy.

To get started, go to your profile page and locate the "Blog Posts" module in the middle column. Click the "Add a Blog Post" link.

You can add text, links, images, and files to your blog post using the blog editor toolbar. You can also select the privacy of your blog post to allow anyone on the social network to view it, just your friends on the social network, or just you.

Join this group to let us know you are participating. Then, Happy Eating!

Can I join even though my blog is on a different website? Or maybe I could copy it on the MT blog site? I'm looking forward to reading the posts from fellow purists this week!

Absolutely! You're participation is always welcome.

Feel free to leave a link to each of your foodlandia posts on the group's comment wall. Cutting and pasting the same post into a roguecurrent blog would work, too.

If you are feeling especially tech-savvy, you can add an RSS feed from your outside blog to your roguecurrent page. Here are some instructions from Ning. I've never done that, but other members have. (Check out Sanne Specht's page; her Unleashed Blog here is an RSS feed of her Mail Tribune blog. Meri Walker has an RSS feed of tele-health news on the left side of her page.)

Eek! Bloggers have no editors. I meant "Your participation is always welcome."
